Subject: Approve the Department of Boating and Waterways 2021/22 Application for Financial Aid in the amount of $350,458.20; and authorize the Sheriff to sign.
Executive Summary: The Sheriff’s Department requests your Board’s approval of the attached Department of Boating and Waterways financial aid application for Fiscal year 2021/22. This application is due to the State by December 31, 2020. A minute order authorizing Sheriff Brian Martin to sign the document is required. Subvention monies from the State, along with County Boat Taxes are utilized to fund the Sheriff/Marine Patrol budget 2205.
General fund monies would need to be used to cover staffing costs if these funds were unavailable.
