Subject: (a) Adopt Resolution revising the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Adopted Budget of the County of Lake by cancelling reserves in Fund 253 Middletown Sewer O&M Reserve Designation, in the amount of $5,000 to make appropriations in the Budget Unit 8353, Object Code 62-74 to pay for generators for Middletown Sewer Lift Stations #1 and #2.

Executive Summary:

Middletown Sewer Lift Station #1 & #2 do not have stationary generators currently and during power outages staff shuffles portable generators between stations in Middletown and Kelseyville to ensure our stations are powered. The purchase of these generators will allow staff to focus on other duties during a power outage to help ensure there is no interruption of service and to minimize the likelihood of sewer spills. The previously budgeted amounts in Budget Unit 8353 are not sufficient to finance the purchase.

We respectfully request that your Board approves the cancellation of reserves in Fund 253 in the amount of $5,000 in order to fund this purchase which will ensure no interruption of service during a loss of power.
