Subject: Approve Contract between the County of Lake and Lake Family Resource Center for Differential Response Services in the amount of $70,000 per fiscal year from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2023, and authorize the Chair to sign.
Executive Summary: (include fiscal and staffing impact narrative):
Social Services has contracted with Lake Family Resource Center (LFRC) for the provision of Differential Response (DR) services since 2007. These services are provided to Lake County families with hopes of preventing child abuse and neglect. Families referred to LFRC by Social Services will receive a variety of services including outreach, needs assessments, development of services plans, and strategic case management tailored to meet the unique needs of each family. Lake County Office of Education (LCOE) also provides Differential Response services under a separate agreement with Social Services, and all agencies work together to provide the optimal response and services for families. LFRC DR serves families with children 0-5 years old and LCOE DR serves families with children 6 years old and up. In fiscal year 2019-2020, LFRC provided DR services to 50 families, comprised of 65 parents and 111 children. The cost of this contract has not increased in many years.
