Subject: Approve Contract between County of Lake and Lake Family Resource Center for Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention Services in the amount of $75,883 per fiscal year from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2024, and authorize the Chair to sign.
Executive Summary: (include fiscal and staffing impact narrative):
Social Services has worked with Lake Family Resource Center (LFRC) for many years under the Child Abuse Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment (CAPIT) Contract. CAPIT funds are allocated annually to Lake County by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS). With CDSS approval, LFRC uses these funds to provide in-home parenting education (the Nurturing Parenting Program ®) to parents referred by Social Services through the Differential Response (DR) program. Under the DR Contract, LFRC serves families with children ages 0-5. Throughout the course of the Nurturing Parenting Program ®, parents and children are instructed separately to ensure information is presented at appropriate comprehension levels, increasing the material’s effectiveness. Under the CAPIT Contract in Fiscal Year 2019-2020, LFRC helped 30 parents and 69 children, for a total of 29 individual families.
