On behalf of Lake County Sanitation Districts

From: Scott Harter, Special Districts Administrator

Subject: (Sitting as the Lake County Sanitation District Board of Directors) (a) Waive the competitive bidding process, pursuant to Lake County Code Section 2-38.2, based on the determination that competitive bidding would produce no economic benefit to the County; and (b) Authorize Special Districts Administrator/Assistant Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order not to exceed $30,000 to Rockwell Solutions for the purchase of a Vaughan 40 HP Chopper Pump for Lift Station #19.

Executive Summary: (include fiscal and staffing impact narrative):

One of the 40 HP pumps inside of Lift Station #19, which pumps raw sewage from the North Lakeport area to the Northwest Treatment Plant is in need of repair. In order to remove the existing pump and keep the system running smoothly, a replacement pump is needed.

Our staff has made several attempts at obtaining quotes from multiple vendors, however, Rockwell Solutions is the main distributor for our particular area. Due to the unique nature of the goods and the lack of available vendors, we respectfully request your Board approves the purchase order for the 40 HP 480 VAC 3 Phase Chopper Pump.
