Subject: (Sitting as the Lake County Sanitation District Board of Directors) (a) Waive the competitive bidding process, pursuant to Lake County Code Section 2-38.2, based on the determination that competitive bidding would produce no economic benefit to the County; and (b) Authorize Special Districts Administrator/Assistant Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order not to exceed $69,000 to Bogie's Pump Systems for the purchase of a HOMA 167 ABS pump for Lift Station #4.
Executive Summary: (include fiscal and staffing impact narrative):
One of the 167 ABS pumps inside Lift Station #4, which pumps raw sewage from a portion of Clearlake to the Southeast Treatment Plant, is in need of repair. In order to remove the existing pump and keep the system operating smoothly, a replacement pump is needed.
Our staff has made several attempt at obtaining quotes from additional vendors, however, Bogie's Pump Systems is the closest distributor for our area. Due to the unique nature of the goods and the lack of additional vendors in our area, our staff respectfully requests your Board approves the purchase order for the HOMA 167 ABS pump for Lift Station #4.
