Subject: Consideration of Report from the Clearlake Environmental Research Center (CLERC)
Executive Summary: (include fiscal and staffing impact narrative):
CLERC exists to bring science, education, government, tribal and business groups together to resolve issues involving Clear Lake, study the unique properties of Clear Lake and the surrounding area, and coordinate programs and projects that focus on solutions to environmental and economic problems locally and worldwide.
In recent months, CLERC has been working with the Risk Reduction Authority and is coordinating projects to help combat the impacts of wildfire, promote positive regeneration of burned areas and preserve the forest and woodlands that have not been destroyed by wildfire.
I am requesting an opportunity for CLERC to provide a report to our Board to raise awareness as to their projects and programs.
