Subject: Approve the retirement of Sheriff's Drug K-9 Dozer to his handler Sergeant Dennis Keithly for the cost of $1.00 per the DSA MOU section 2.6.5
Executive Summary:
The Sheriff’s Department has found it necessary to retire one of our drug K-9’s, Dozer. Because of the age of this K-9. Dozer will be retired and assigned to his handler, Sergeant Dennis Keithly.
Under section 2.6.5 of the DSA MOU, the handler has the right to purchase this canine for $1.00. Sergeant Keithly has been caring for this animal and will assume all responsibility for Dozer at this time. Sergeant Keithly will be exercising his right of first refusal to purchase this K-9 for $1.00.
