Memorandum
Date: July 13, 2021
To: The Honorable Bruno Sabatier, Chair, Lake County Board of Supervisors
From: Lars Ewing, Public Services Director
Subject: A) Update on County Facilities Energy Conservation Measures Program; and
B) Consideration of Agreement for a Preliminary Energy Audit
Executive Summary:
The County, through the Public Services Department and in coordination with the Administrative Office and other departments, is investigating a variety of potential energy savings measures to county-owned facilities that may prove beneficial for either financial or reduced power consumption reasons. To accomplish this the County issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from companies that are capable of planning, designing, and implementing such a program. The RFQ selection committee ranked Trane Technologies as the most qualified respondent. Trane is in the process of analyzing county facilities for potential cost savings projects, as well as investigating possible advanced energy project opportunities. Trane will provide an interim progress presentation and a discussion of next steps. Additionally, a no-cost agreement for Trane to complete a preliminary energy audit is included for the Board's consideration.
