Subject: Approve Letter of Support to the Senate Budget & Fiscal Review Sub. No. 3 and Assembly Budget Sub. No. 1 California State General Fund request; from the County Welfare Directors Association (CWDA) who is Co-Sponsoring a budget request with Children Now to Invest $50 million State Funds in Year 1, and $100 Million on going, to support statewide implementation of the Prevention Services provisions of the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) for Child Welfare Services and Authorize the Chair to Sign.

Executive Summary: (include fiscal and staffing impact narrative):
Lake County has taken important steps towards prevention and early intervention, and FFPSA would help our county move our prevention vision forward. The Children's Council began working with Strategies 2.0 in 2018. Through this partnership, a workgroup was formed and the participants, from private and public agencies, created a vision for Lake County. It was decided that it was time to adopt a county-wide strategy that shifted our focus from abuse prevention to acknowledging and building on community strengths. The workgroup became known as "Resilient Lake County". Resilient Lake County would be able to use these funds to begin a program in local communities to strengthen family well-being for more families. If Resilient Lake County can empower more families to be healthier, then we will impact our community outcomes and prevent child abuse and neglect in Lake County.
