Memorandum

Date: June 10, 2021

To: The Honorable Bruno Sabatier, Chair, Lake County Board of Supervisors

From: Scott De Leon, Public Works Director

Subject: Adopt Resolution to Establish a List of Projects Proposed to be Funded in FY 2021/2022 Pursuant to the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 (SB1)

Executive Summary: (include fiscal and staffing impact narrative):

The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 (SB1) provides additional funding for basic road maintenance and rehabilitation. One-half of the funding generated from SB1 is allocated to cities and counties with the remaining 50% being retained by the State. For FY 21/22 Lake County is expected to receive approximately $2,831,196, of which has been appropriated in the FY 2021/2022 adopted budget.

Although the adopted budget reflects this revenue estimate, actual receipt of this funding is subject to the State's approval of a proposed project list that has been formally established pursuant to a Board adopted Resolution. The Resolution establishes the required project list.

We recommend that the Board adopt the resolution adopting a list of projects for Fiscal Year 2021-22 funded by SB1: The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 and authorize the Chair to sign.
