Subject:                     (a) Adopt Resolution approving the Lake County Sheriff's Office to apply for State of California, Department of Parks and Recreation Off-Highway Vehicle Grant funds and authorize the Lake County Sheriff/Coroner or his designee to sign the Project Agreement  and (b) Consideration of a delegation of authority to Lake County Sheriff/Coroner Brian Martin or his designee to execute the attached Project Agreement, Number G19-03-64-L01 and to act as the County’s agent in the negotiation, execution, and submittal of all related documents, including amendments to the Project Agreement and requests for payments

 

 Executive Summary:   The Sheriff’s Office has applied for and received approval of a grant through the California State Parks Grants and Cooperative Agreements Program for funding its Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) enforcement program.  

On January 5, 2021, your Board approved the Project Agreement and Resolution.  The Project Agreement description is to provide Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) related Law Enforcement activities within the jurisdiction of the Lake County Sheriff's Office. The activities may include, but are not limited to patrol, barrier installation, maps, search and rescue.  The Project may also provide for the purchase of Equipment, Heavy Equipment, materials and supplies as outlined in the Project Cost Estimate. 

The Resolution has been amended on Page 1, Item 4 to read:  "Certifies that the Project, as described in Project Agreement Number G19-03-64-L01, will be well-maintained during its useful life;"
