Subject: Adopt Proclamation Commending Dave Deakins for his 33 years of service to the residents of Lake County
Executive Summary: (include fiscal and staffing impact narrative):
COMMENDING DAVE DEAKINS FOR HIS 33 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE RESIDENTS OF LAKE COUNTY
WHEREAS, the public service of certain individuals should be highlighted in our community in order to recognize their contribution and their impact to making Lake County a better place to live today than it was before; and
WHEREAS, Dave Deakins is such an individual who has dedicated 33 years of his life to serving the people of Lake County, and more specifically the areas of Clearlake and Lower Lake; and
WHEREAS, Dave Deakins has lived in Lake County his entire life, including graduating from Lower Lake High School, and continued his support for Lower Lake High School sports as a founding charter member of Lower Lake High School Football Fundraising Association, LLHSFFA provides critical funding to ensure the opportunity for our youth to take part in competitive sports continues since inception and into the future; and
WHEREAS, Dave Deakins continued his support of our youth by assisting in coaching football for the Lower Lake High School Trojans, including coaching his sons who also played on the team; and
WHEREAS, Dave Deakins was hired as a permanent full time employee in 1996 as a fire fighter for what was then Lakeshore Fire District, prior to consolidating to Lake County Fire Protection District; and
WHEREAS, Dave Deakins was promoted to Apparatus Engineer in 1999 and became Fire Captain in 2005 where he has played a crucial role of being in charge of all facilities while also performing routine and major projects; and
