Subject: Approve Contract between the County of Lake and Lake Transit Authority for Local Public Transportation Services in the Amount of $45,600, from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022, and authorize the Chair to sign.
Executive Summary:
Social Services has contracted with Lake Transit Authority since 1999 to provide transportation to eligible CalWORKs participants so they can participate in Welfare-to-Work Activities. Transportation services, provided in the form of bus passes, help participants to access to local public transportation and can be used to travel to and from important appointments, job interviews, and more. This service helps families to achieve the ultimate goal of self-sufficiency.
In fiscal year 2020-2021, the Contract amount was reduced by $28,320 to better fit the needs of our clients and increase the efficient use of funds. The amount of monthly, unlimited use bus passes has been reduced and supplemented with punch cards that have a limited number of trips but no expiration date. These changes remain in the 2021-2022 Contract.
