Memorandum

Date:                                          October 5, 2021

To:                                          The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From:                                          E.J. Crandell, District 3 Supervisor

Subject:                     Presentation by Northshore Fire Regarding their fire Fuels Crew project

Executive Summary:

I am requesting an opportunity for Northshore Fire Chief Mike Ciancio to present the Fuels Crew project being planned, to reduce the risk of wildfire.

The Habematolel Tribe is stepping up to support the cost of payroll and benefits for the fuels reduction crew.  Northshore fire is seeking other funding for the cost of equipment.  While this effort began with Northshore fire, it is my understanding that grant funds are being sought as a long-term funding strategy and the intent is expand to other areas of Lake County.
