Memorandum
Date: October 5, 2021
To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors
From: Lars Ewing, Public Services Director
Subject: Approve a Budget Transfer in Budget Unit 1671, Facilities Maintenance, for $177,519 for Two Trailer-Mounted Generators
Executive Summary: The County is the recipient of a California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) community power resiliency allocation in the amount of $183,393 to be used for backup generators. On September 21, 2021 your board authorized the Public Services Director to sign a purchase order for $177,519 to Leete Generators for two trailer-mounted emergency standby generators, to be paid from the CalOES allocation. The remaining $5,876 from the allocation is proposed to be used for smaller portable generators for satellite election locations.
In accordance with County finance procedures for fixed assets, the purchase of the two large trailer-mounted generators must be appropriated in object code 62.74, equipment. The appropriation of capital assets requires Board of Supervisors approval, therefore staff recommends the Board of Supervisors approve the attached budget transfer to appropriate sufficient capital asset funds.
