Executive Summary:
As you will recall, your Board entered into a Letter of Commitment with Trane September 21, 2021, to enable pursuit of grant funding toward development of a Firemain Linked Auxiliary Supply Hydraulic Energy Storage (FLASHES) System project in the North Lakeport Area:

Today (October 19) is the Phase 1 application deadline for the United State Economic Development Administration’s Build Back Better Regional Challenge program. Since September 21, members of your Board, Staff and representatives from Trane and their subcontractors have been hard at work securing Letters of Support and completing other elements of the documentation required for this funding opportunity.
Staff recommends your Board authorize the County Administrative Officer, or my designee, to electronically submit Lake County’s Phase 1 application today, meeting the grant deadline.
