Memorandum
Date: November 30, 2021
To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors
From: Todd Metcalf, MPA, Behavioral Health Services Director
Subject: Adopt Resolution Authorizing Lake County Behavioral Health Services to Increase the Rates for Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS) Effective July 1, 2021.
Executive Summary:
Lake County Behavioral Health Services is required to submit cost reports in arrears annually to the Department of Health Care Services. LCBHS has submitted cost reports through fiscal year 2019-20, however, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) must review and settle these cost reports. At present, has reviewed and settled the cost reports through fiscal year 2016-17.
Lake County Behavioral Health Services’ cost of providing Specialty Mental Health Services has increased since the last cost report was submitted and settled. As such, LCBHS must increase the rates for Specialty Mental Health Services and must pass a Resolution to do so.
This rate increase is estimated to bring in an additional $634,000.00 of annual revenue, which is a 31% increase.
