Memorandum
Date: March 22, 2022
To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors
From: Carol J. Huchingson, County Administrative Officer
Subject: Approve the nomination of Supervisor Sabatier to serve on the Economic Mobility Leadership Network (EMLN)
Executive Summary:
CSAC Executive Director Graham Knaus and NACO staff recently reached out to advise of an opportunity for a member of your Board to serve on the EMLN. The EMLN is a NACo cohort of county leaders that examines the range of complicated issues that comprise economic mobility, including housing, job creation, food insecurity and an overall lack of opportunity. Through the EMLN, NACo county leaders build capacity to identify and assess current barriers to opportunity and share scalable and transferable programs with peers across the country.
The EMLN will include three in-person convenings (with all travel expenses covered by the NACo Research Foundation) and monthly one-hour virtual cohort calls.
Supervisor Sabatier, who presently serves on your Board’s Economic Development Task Force, has expressed interest and availability to serve on the EMLN.
