Subject: Adopt Resolution Authorizing Application for Grant Funds for the Abatement of Dilapidated Lakebed Structures
Executive Summary:
The Blue Ribbon Committee for the Rehabilitation of Clear Lake (BRC) recommends projects for funding to the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) which meet certain criteria to achieve their committee purpose.
The District proposed such a project (Abatement of Dilapidated Lakebed Structures) which satisfied the criteria of the BRC to meet their purpose. The BRC recommended the aforementioned project to the CNRA and they approved the project funding. Prior to entering a grant agreement, CNRA requires a resolution from the District governing body authorizing the application for grant funds.
Staff recommends the Lake County Board of Supervisors, serving as the Board of Directors of the Lake County Watershed Protection District sign the resolution authorizing the District to apply for grant funds with the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) through the Proposition 68 Specified River Parkways Grant in the amount of $250,000.00 for abatement of dilapidated lakebed structures and authorize the Director of the Water Resources Department to sign the grant agreement, authorize any future amendments, and sign invoices and reports for the Agreement
