Subject: Approve Agreement between County of Lake and Native American Mental Health Services dba North American Mental Health Services for TelePsychiatry Services in the amount of $2,904,708.48 for FYs 2022-25 and Authorize the Board Chair to Sign.
Executive Summary:
Lake County Behavioral Health Services does not have a County-employed psychiatry provider and recruitment for this position across the state and nation is profoundly challenging. In order to meet our obligation as the County Mental Health Plan, LCBHS must provide 1.5 Full Time Equivalent staff for adult psychiatry and 0.8 FTE staff for child/adolescent psychiatry as proscribed by the Federal Network Adequacy Standards.
LCBHS issued a Request for Proposals on December 1st 2021. This RFP yielded two proposals for telepsychiatry and/or locum tenens services. Each proposal had the same rates for psychiatric providers. Based on a thorough review of the proposals and discussion with the LCBHS management team, there was a unanimous decision to contract with North American Mental Health Services.
