Subject: Approve Amendment Number 1 to the Agreement Between County of Lake and New Life Health Authority to Increase the Total Amount Payable Under the Agreement to $850,000.00 for Fiscal Year 2021-22 and Authorize the Board Chair to Sign.
Executive Summary:
Lake County Behavioral Health Services entered into an Agreement with New Life Health Authority, LLC for Substance Use Disorder Treatment Services and Narcotic Treatment Program (NTP) Services on August 10, 2021. Lake County Behavioral Health Services is the first non-ODS, Drug Medi-Cal County to contract with a Tribal 638 Clinic in California. It is important to note that NTP services are an entitlement to Medi-Cal beneficiaries under the State Drug Medi-Cal Plan. Depending on the beneficiary’s type of Medi-Cal, these services are almost 100% reimbursable by the State, where LCBHS is the fiscal pass-through.
Utilization for this service exceeded our expectations, which is good news for our community. This means the service was truly needed and is filling a treatment/service gap. As such, LCBHS needs to increase the contract.
