Subject: Approve Contract renewal between the County of Lake Health Services and Trina Maia, for Physical Therapy Services in Support of the California Children's Services Program (CCS) and the Medical Therapy Program (MTP) for a term starting July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 and a maximum amount of $126,720; and Authorize the Board Chair to Sign
Executive Summary:
Health Services Medical Therapy Program (MTP) is a special program within California Children's Services (CCS) that provides physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT) and medical therapy conference (MTC) services for children with disabilities, generally due to neurological or musculoskeletal disorders.
Although Health Services has actively recruited for a Physical Therapist to support the MTP program, no applications were received. As a result, Health Services is contracting with Ms. Trina Maia, to provide physical therapy services for these children.
Ms. Maia has a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University, and over twenty years of experience. Ms. Maia is well received by Health Services staff, and the families and children served through the MTP.
Health Services requests your Board's approval to renew this agreement with Ms. Maia to continue providing these vital services to our MTP families, and children. The Department will also continue recruitment efforts to locate and hire a full time Physical Therapist.
