Subject: Consideration of Second Amendment to the Abandoned Vehicle Towing and Disposal Services Agreement with Kelseyville Auto Salvage Towing to Increase the FY 21/22 limit by $5,500 and FY 22/23 by $10,000 and approve the chair to sign
Executive Summary:
Issue: In order to continue service with Kelseyville Auto Salvage and Towing (KAST) for abandoned vehicle towing and disposal services an amendment needs to be executed to increase annual compensation limits.
Currently, The County of Lake (County) has an agreement in place with KAST for abandoned vehicle towing and disposal services as part of the Lake County Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program. KAST has provided services that exceed the amount allowed for in the original agreement and "Amendment One" to the original agreement for "...$10,000 per year, not to exceed a total of $10,000 over the one (1) year contract term..."
Background: On August 18, 2020, The County entered in an agreement with KAST for abandoned vehicle towing and disposal services. Section IV of the agreement states the agreement shall not exceed the agreed upon amount of $10,000 per year, not to exceed a total of $10,000 over one (1) year contract term...
On June 22, 2021, "Amendment One" was executed to extend the term for an additional two year term and to "adjust the per annum compensation limits, not to exceed $10,000 per year."
Proposal: It is being proposed to execute a new and second amendment with KAST to adjust and increase annual compensation limits to not exceed $15,500 per year in the second year term; and $20,000 per year in the third year term, keeping all other terms of the agreement the same.
