Subject: Authorize the Social Services Director to Sign a Purchase Order, Executing the Purchase of 100 Computer Workstations, from CDW-G, in the Amount of $101,106.90, and authorize the Chair to sign.
Executive Summary:
Due to changing technology, our department must periodically upgrade our electronic and data equipment to keep up with the demands of the systems we are mandated to use. The workstation models identified for replacement date back to 2016, and we must upgrade for security and functionality.
Our team recommends purchasing the equipment from CDW-G. CDW-G is a California Multiple Award Schedules (CMAS) vendor. Purchasing from a CMAS vendor fulfills the competitive bidding requirement, and no waiver of that requirement is necessary. Purchasing from CDW-G would save the department $20,000 with this purchase.
