Memorandum

Date:                                          2-14-23

To:                              The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From:                     Mireya G. Turner, Community Development Director

William Collins, Chief Building Official

Marcus Beltramo, Code Enforcement Manager

Subject:       Approve First Amendment to Agreement between County of Lake and TruePoint Solutions for as-needed permitting software services, in the amount of $19,965.00 and authorize the Chair to sign.

Executive Summary: Staff requests to extend the contract with TruePoint Solutions for as-needed permitting software services used for the configuration, troubleshooting and upkeep of the Community Development Department’s permitting software, Accela. While the additional funding will put us over $25,000 in total cost for FY22/23, Staff requests the Board consider section 2-38.2(3) of the Lake County Code which provides an exception to competitive bidding is appropriate in this instance. Due to the added cost of the time it would take for a new service provider to get up to speed with what the County needs from Accela as well as staff time updating the new service provider, starting with a new provider at this point would produce no economic benefit to the County.
