Subject: Lake County Social Services CalFresh & Medi-Cal Program Update
Executive Summary:
With approval of the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act, some public assistance program waivers tied to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) are ending. CalFresh Emergency Allotments are ending, which provided an increase of at least $95 in CalFresh benefits per month to households. Medi-Cal continuous coverage is ending, which ensured, with few exceptions, that people on Medi-Cal kept their Medi-Cal without any changes throughout the PHE. Lake County Social Services would like to take this opportunity to briefly inform your board, and the public, of these upcoming program changes, and answer any general questions.
