Memorandum

Date:                                          February 6, 2024

To:                                          The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From:                                          Mireya G. Turner, Community Development Director

                                          Marcus Beltramo, Code Enforcement Manager

Subject:                     Approve Purchase of one (1) Vehicle for Code Enforcement from Ford Corning, in the amount of $47,743.85, and authorize Community Development Director to issue Purchase Order

Executive Summary: Code Enforcement requests Board approval for the purchase of a new Code Enforcement vehicle, a 2024 Ford Explorer in the amount of $47,743.85.  Pursuant to Lake County Code Chapter 2-39.1 (c), expenditures in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00), but not exceeding fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) are presented to the Board for approval.

On June 6, 2023, the Board of Supervisors authorized a resolution for program funding for the Proposition 64 Health and Safety Grant (hereinafter, Grant), which funds are utilized to support cannabis code enforcement.  As part of the authorized grant, Code Enforcement budgeted for and received approval from the California Board of State and Community Corrections for the purchase of two (2) new vehicles.  At this time, Code Enforcement is only purchasing one vehicle.  Code Enforcement transacted the solicitation and purchase through Public Works, Fleet Maintenance, where three (3) quotes were obtained from vendors.  The lowest and selected quote for Board approval was received from Ford Corning.
