Subject: (a) Approve amendment 12 to agreement between the County of Lake and Sun Ridge Systems, Inc for the purchase and installation of Mindbase Link software interface in the amount of $5,350.00; and (b) Authorize the Chair of the Board to sign.
Executive Summary: The Officer Wellness and Mental Health Grant Program, was established in the 2022 Budget Act (Assembly Bill 178, Chapter 45, Statutes of 2022), and provided $50 million for city and county law enforcement agencies for the purpose of improving officer wellness and expanding mental health sources. The funding may be used for any of the following purposes:
• Establishing or expanding officer wellness units
• Establishing or expanding peer support units
• Services provided by a licensed mental health professional, counselor or other professional that works with law enforcement
• Expanding multiagency mutual aid programs focused on officer wellness and mental health
• Other programs and services that are evidence-based or have a successful track record of enhancing officer wellness
• Purchase of gym equipment
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was awarded $64,592 from this grant. To address improvements in our deputies’ physical/mental well-being, we added a subscription to the Mindbase Wellness Platform. The platform requires an interface with our current CAD/RMS system to help track types of calls that deputies respond to. This interface will help provide feedback to our peer support team to help determine when a wellness check may be needed for a specific deputy. We request approval of the attached amendment to approve the purchase and installation of the Mindbase Link software for this interface.
