Date: February 6, 2023

To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From: Shane French, Information Technology Director

Subject: Approve the addition of a fixed asset titled 'Network Datacenter Switches' in 2023-2024 Capital Asset Listing in the amount of $24,865.95 and lower 'Dell PowerEdge servers' fixed asset by same amount.

Executive Summary:
The Information Technology Department was allocated $100,000 for server replacements in our datacenter this fiscal year. We have purchased the servers, and have leftover funding that we would like to use for networking infrastructure upgrades to support the server connections. We have received a quote for a suitable network switch configuration that will integrate well and provide performance benefits.

We are requesting that your Board approve the addition of a fixed asset titled 'Network Datacenter Switches.' The cost of the item is $24,865.95. There are sufficient funds in account 001-1904-719.62-71 to cover this purchase; no additional funds are being requested. The purchase would be made using a competitive 'piggyback' contract vehicle.
