Subject: (a) Approve Acceptance of Donations from Lake County Tribal Health ($6,700), Adventist Health Clearlake ($2,205) and Sutter Health Lakeport ($750) allocated for the purchase of AED's; and (b) Adopt Resolution to allocate unanticipated revenue for the purchase of AED's for use by the Lake County Sheriff's Department
Executive Summary: The Lake County Sheriff's Department would like to recognize the following organizations for their contributions for the purchase of AED's (Automated External Defibrillator):
Lake County Tribal Health - $6,700
Adventist Health Clearlake - $2,205
Sutter Health Lakeport - $750
All of our deputies receive training on the use of AEDs. The Sheriff's Office will be placing 6 of these devices in our facilities that could be used if a member of the pubic or one of our staff has a medical emergency. We will be utilizing the remaining devices with our deputies in the field as sometimes they arrive on scene of a cardiac event prior to medical personnel and staff would be able to render aide. Three bids were requested with Allied 100 being the low bidder. The unit chosen is the Cardiac Science Powerheart G3.
